The Gnarly Tree

Does this tree exemplify your life?  From birth things have been rocky and your life full of struggles?  Your life has taken different turns, sometimes left then right?  Life is not what you want it to be?  You are sometimes afraid, empty hurting or lonely.  Do you often thirst for more?  Jesus promises you much more…  In John 4:13-14, “Jesus answered and said to her, everyone who drinks of this water shall thirst again; but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.”  Jesus doesn’t promise to make your life easy; life can still be much like this tree, difficult and gnarly, yet through those difficult times we still have hope.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Rom 15:13 NIV

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.  Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.  And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.” Rom 5:1-5 NIV

We have a heavenly Father who loves us more than we can imagine.  We have forgiveness through His son Jesus Christ.  When we accept Jesus into our lives He is our friend and walks with us at all times.  Like the tree, we are full of life, beautiful, loved and reaching upward to our hope and joy in Jesus.
